Professor Bakhtiary is a renowned specialist in the field of endoscopic microinvasive cardiac surgery without opening the sternum and has gained extensive experience at several renowned hospitals such as the University Hospital Leipzig, where he worked for eight years as Deputy Head of Pediatric Cardiac Surgery and later as Deputy Director of the Clinic for Cardiac Surgery. In addition, Prof. Bakhtiary was Head of the Helios Heart Center NRW, Siegburg-Wuppertal, for further five years. Since June 2021, he has been the Director of the Clinic and Polyclinic for Cardiac Surgery at Bonn University Hospital, Germany. During his career, he performed more than 10,000 operations on children and adults, establishing himself as an expert in this field. Immediately after Prof. Bakhtiary completed his medical studies at the Johann-Wolfgang-Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main in 2001, he dedicated his career equally to academic research and surgical skills. Since then, his engagement and motivation led him to continuously upgrade his skills and to contribute to the developments of new surgical techniques and equipment in order to achieve the highest possible healthcare and quality of life for his patients.
